5 weeks to go...Stationery: 'Oh Happy Day'

It is 5 weeks until our big day and I am hoping to blog each week about our plans and inspirations!

I will getting married to the boy I met in the first year of university over 4 years ago. We will be wed in the village church across the road, followed by celebrations at the village hall. We have planned the day to be a very relaxed affair with a village fete theme, full of d.i.y details and a very small budget to boot!

We started planning the day back in April 2012 when Harry proposed after we moved into our first flat. To be honest we have been very laid back with the whole 'wedding planning' thing and everything (so far) has been quite straight forward.  We picked a date, booked up the church, village hall, photographer, hire of equipment and caterers all very early on last year. We then set about putting a guest list together in order to send out our save the date cards. (The exciting creative bit!)

The research and inspiration started almost immediately, one word...Pinterest! I am sure you have all heard of Pinterest but for those of you that haven't, Pinterest is a virtual pin board where you can save and group together ideas and images for any occasion or theme. It has been my best friend throughout the whole time and id say it is a definite must when planning your wedding. You can also create secret boards so your wedding plans are kept a secret!

You can follow me and view my boards here: http://pinterest.com/lucyaliceporter/

We have decided on a theme of a yellow, village fete, mismatched day full of fun d.i.y details and we wanted our invitations to reflect this.

So here they are, our save the dates and invitations, designed by myself and lovingly hand assembled by the Fiancee!

A peek into my studio...

This weekend I took part in the Creative Quarter Open studio's event and opened up my space to the public.

It was great to let people into my little world which I usually share with just me, myself and I!
Despite the wind and the rain we had lots of visitors who were all able to both see where all my products are made and buy my work within the exclusive sample sale.

Here is a little look into the Lucy Alice Studio....

Thank you to everyone who popped by!

New Stockists for June!

The sun is shining and my work is now available to buy in these lovely shops, happy days!

Chirpy, Chapel Allerton, Leeds

I must admit I was very excited when I got an email from Harriet at 'Chirpy', for a start what a fabulous name for a even more fabulous shop! Chirpy is based in Chapel Allerton and is home to array of colourful and quirky products all sourced from independent designers. A shop where I could quite happily buy one of everything, plus how brilliant are the laser cut signs!

Whitechapel Gallery Bookshop, London

It is great to have another stockist in the Capital and especially within a contemporary gallery such as Whitechapel. I met the manager, Melanie, at the British Library Spring Fair back in March and they now stock my cards and badge cards within their bookshop!

The Bowery, Headingley, Leeds

Another lovely shop based near Leeds. The Bowery showcases emerging designers work from across the UK, including some of my favourites. The bonus is they also serve coffee and cake! The Bowery now sell my Urban Wildlife range of cards.

A list of all my stockists can be found here

None of these near you? You can always buy my work in my online shop:
